Head tuner Toan Nguyen and the fine folks at PTUNING transformed their turbocharged Scion tC show car into a race car in little more than 3 days. They swapped in a new set of Progress Technology “Long Beach”-spec adjustable coilovers, beefy Advan Racing wheels shod with Toyo’s new Proxes R888 “R-comp” tires, custom sway bars and revised StopTech brakes to keep the fade away. PTUNING spent more than 12 hours on the chassis dyno perfecting the fuel and timing control. To help get all that power to the ground they also installed a Quaife automatic torque biasing LSD and an Exedy Stage 2 clutch.

After Saturday’s practice session hired gun Ross Miller (who normally races a Porsche 944) praised the car’s stability but also relayed his desire for more rotation in certain corners. So the car was rolled back onto the trailer and shipped back to the shop where it went onto their Hoffman alignment rack for some fine tuning. The next day Ross was able to drop over 2 seconds from his lap time to secure the class win. Cheers for all your hard efforts!
